What is blogging?
I have a whole article written for ‘Blogging,’ though this ones just a brief overview.
Read: A comprehensive guide on blogging and earning through it. (Link in the end)
Blogging is basically about sharing your thoughts in written form, kind of like keeping a diary or journal online. Usually, these posts are arranged in order, with the newest one first and the older ones below.
People keep posting these blogs regularly on a website or a page. It could be just one person writing or a group. The main goal is to share what you know, what you’re good at, or your experiences in a certain area to help the people who are interested in that topic.
The style can be personal and professional mixed. The reason is because your frankness will let people understand your meaning more clearly and that’s by giving your opinions, sharing your personal anecdotes and making it relatable while having a professional style will make it more authoritative and trustworthy to the readers and it will ensure them that you’re expert in your skill.
When you’re sharing info, you just lay it out there plain and simple. Plus, Stick to the facts without taking sides or pushing any particular viewpoint which can make you look biased. It’s also good to back up what you’re saying with info from trustworthy sources which is also called as citation. However, During citations most websites might not allow you especially when it comes to Commercial purposes
And remember, keep your language easy to understand – no need for fancy words that just make things harder to follow, unless they are important to tell, but do tell its meaning too. The whole purpose during this is that viewers don’t get distracted or bored just because they find your page hard to understand eventually they’ll end up leaving your page.
What is Off-Page Optimisation?
Off-Page Optimization is part of making sure your website gets seen by more people. It’s not just about what’s on your site, but also about what happens outside of it. This means that you've to carefully look at what other people, websites thinks about your blogs. Do they really think it is admirable to paste and recommend to their audience. One such type is called as "Backlinks."
This is the importance of external validation, or “signs,” for SEO optimization. It mentions that these signs include links from other websites, social media mentions, and customer reviews. When other websites link to yours, it signals to search engines that your site is credible and relevant, which potentially boosting its ranking in search results when people search for related topics or products.
This is also called as vote of confidence in the eyes of search engines. Where they start trusting your content and bring to more searches.
So, Off-Page Optimization is all about building up your reputation online and getting more people to notice your website. It’s an important part of making sure your site gets seen by as many people as possible.
Off Page SEO, has examples with it too. Its not just relying on one type of act. Therefore, I’ll explain you all the examples simply to get more clarified.
1) Link Building:-
Link building is all about proving to search engines that your blogs can be trusted and offer valuable information for readers. You do this by sharing your links on other platforms, so when people visit those sites, they can click on your blog posts. But here’s the thing: it’s not just about dropping links anywhere. You need to use proper SEO techniques. That’s why link building comes in different forms, each with its own importance and value.
However, I can tell you one point which is helping. I know most of us blog for earning money that’s a good point but don’t make it as your target while writing the blog.
During writing, your point should be that how my audience will get information through my writing. How am I going to help them in such a way which increases their knowledge in actual and they’re convinced to give a desired action, which can result in subscriptions, purchasing affiliate links, or commenting down and staying at your blog for longer time.
Moreover, there are examples of Link Building too:
1. Backlinks:
This is the form of Link Building. As a beginner it might seem new to you like it did to me once I entered this field, but after slowly learning everything I got to know about this part too.
In blogging Backlinks have a major portion especially when you’re trying to bring a big traffic which is relevant to the content you are posting. However, I will tell you some drawbacks of backlinks too but the benefits at the same time. As everything has its pros and cons. Therefore, first understand What backlinks are?
Backlinks means that when you post your blog links into someone else’s platform. The reason, you do is to get your site done SEO, which means that your content will get at the top, and people will recognise it more often. One of the platform, I can recommend is LinkedIn. There have been many people who have got ranked by posting their blogs over here.
But for that, first you have to write a blog on that platform and with a highly honest manner you request your audience to visit that blog too. It is also done by me.
Now you might get a question that why posting on other platforms will give my blogs ranking?
Remember that your blog post are coming on top is the reason of domain authority of that platform. For example, the best platform I can tell you is LinkedIn for backlinks.
LinkedIn has built a trust to search engines like Google. So when you publish your post over there, the platform is being ranked itself and due to your connection with it, you’re getting ranked too.
Other reason which counts is that your social signals. Of course, you’ll market your real blog site too, which if your audience like your blog, they will surely visit your official website too, resulting in more visibility. What you do is write a blog and link your website over there with properly informing them about your purpose and why they should visit it.
Now the con for this is mentioned in “Common Mistakes” section.
I have another con of it too. Backlinks consumes time because you need to find more than one website to post your blogs. So, you have to make a list of websites which allows you to back link.
Secondly, the reason is that not every website is considered repuatable by search engines. If you put your content there, then your website's reputation will be lowered and it would look that you try to do spam to others by misleading their movement to things which the audience are not aware of even if it's not your intention.
Third con you can face is that, you need to take permission from those websites, and you can get rejected too from pasting your links. This could either be a reason of paying money first, because they’re letting you paste it in their possessions or property I’d say, or second reason is because they straightforwardly don’t allow you to post.
2. Broken Links:
Broken link is a form of backlinks. Well, now let me clarify what “Broken Links” means in a blog.
Broken links means that the URL doesn’t leads you to the page which user wanted to go.
The reason could be either that page doesn’t work anymore although previously it used to be active. I used to have a blog on “Health” niche which still exists however, the name domain name doesn’t exists now, because I’ve changed it.
Therefore, if someone clicks the old domain, it doesn’t leads to that page. Have a look to the picture here:
“Screenshot of my own blog website”So if you are someone who is looking to post links somewhere so that your site will get SEO, then this is the best opportunity. These links are immediately replaceable because search engines like Google is super strict, when it comes to the content reputation, because if audience needs are not fulfilled they will leave the page leading to poor image of search engines and the website.
Furthermore, you need to check that
3) Natural Editorial Links:
Off-page optimization involves activities outside of your website aimed at improving its search engine rankings and visibility. This includes building backlinks, engaging in social media marketing, guest blogging, managing online reputation, local SEO, content marketing, and influencer partnerships. These efforts enhance the website's authority, credibility, and relevance, ultimately boosting its position in search engine results.
Other way includes:
- Social media promotion:
This is a common way and that's why it is often good to build some followers on social media and then start your blog. When your are taken as a credible source, your people will automatically click it. Second reason for click is that on social media, more target audience are coming so definitely you'll get a good engagement rates too. (Engagement rates refers too the feedback of audience in terms of click to ads, purchase products, subscriptions, comments). Social media posts are really contributing in this act when you give details for that particular niche with mentioning the blog and link can be present in bio. The platforms includes: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Medium.com, Pinterest.
- Social Bookmarking:
